Mike Brown
Mike is an improviser, teacher, producer, casting director, production coordinator, amature cosplay builder, and YouTuber living in New York City who occasionally moonlights as a flight attendant …just, you know, for the health insurance.
Mike began improvising in 2005, and spent his first 5 years studying with some of the best improvisers around, including Armando Diaz (The Magnet Theater), Ashley Ward (Baby Wants Candy), Chris Griggs (The PIT), and Susan Messing (iO Chicago/Second City) just to name a few.
After training with The Magnet Theater, The People’s Improv Theater (The PIT), and The Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), Mike started touring the improv festival circuit throughout the US, Canada, New Zealand, Belgium, Scotland, England, Hungary, and Spain.
Mike has been cast in various television shows & commercials around New York (and Belgium), and currently works part time as a casting director, production coordinator, & improv advisor for AGBK Studios in Brooklyn.
In 2017, he was brought on to teach full time at the People’s Improv Theater (NYC), and simultaneously produced 2 running shows, Fury: Earth’s Mightiest Improv, and The Improvised Escape Room (a Halloween themed escape room show).
Shortly before the global pandemic of 2020, Mike was cast in BeerProv, a Short Form improv show similar in style to ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’. This nightly show played aboard the MSC Meraviglia, an Italian cruise ship sailing through Eastern Canada & the Caribbean.
Mike has been teaching improv classes & workshops for well over 13 years (both independently and with The PIT), and considers this one of his greatest callings life has bestowed upon him.
Mike met his wife, Kim, in improv class. They once did an improvised musical together about ants bravely defending their colony against scorpions. Mike’s character turned out to be a traitor. All the ants died. It was tragic.
